So you want to become a member of Men of Iron but there is no household near by? This is not a problem! For those who fall into this group, there is an answer: Become a Men of Iron Member Errant.
What is a Member-Errant? It is a member of Men of Iron who in the tradition of the Knight-Errant who has no household to call his own-yet. It can take time to develop a new household, so for that reason Men of Iron has developed an adjusted list of requirements to become a Page and Squire. These requirements are provisional and will be suspended when a church has more than two active members or when a new household has started that he can be a part of.
While designated as a member-errant, it is recommended that the person who serves as the mentor to the member-errant be his pastor, youth pastor or other member of the pastoral staff. For those member-errant under 18, This should be a youth/children’s pastor, youth leader mid week discipleship leader or a spiritually mature, seasoned leader of the church approved by his pastor.
It is important to work with a pastor or his designee while a member errant.
By asking for your pastors help, it will introduce him to Men of Iron in a meaningful way as he assists you through the requirements. His help with this can open the door to his understanding Men of Iron and can lead to establishing a new household. Another reason is to allow your pastor to see how Men of Iron can help build men in his church.
To become a Member-Errant:
- Fill out and submit the Men of Iron Membership Application
- Select Member-Errant on the application
- Begin promoting Men of Iron to build your own household
