Men of Iron who reach knighthood are to be commended for their effort! They have reached a height obtained by few. They may choose to remain a knight or they may continue to gather honor by pursuing the rank of Knight Baronet.
The Knight Baronet is the first of the peerage ranks of Men of Iron. What is a peer? Historically a peer is one who has been granted a title that they use in the context of the organization. In Men of Iron, a peer is identified by those who are granted the right to wear or display a coronet either as a physical coronet or as a visual representation of the same. Most of the peerage are titles that are granted or appointed by the Crown Prince for the operations of Men of Iron. There are two that are not granted but can be earned by anyone who is willing to pursue the goal. They are Knight Baronet and Guildmaster.
So how does one become a Knight Baronet? Unlike the Page, Squire and Knight levels of Men of Iron there is no workbook for this level. This honor is awarded by participation in and service to Men of Iron. The requirements are as follows:
- Must be a Knight
- Be an active member of Men of Iron for 4 years
- Mentor 6 members to become a Page
- Mentor 4 Pages to become a Squire
- Mentor 2 Squires to become Knights
- Participate in 3 separate tournament events
- Assist in conducting 3 separate Quest for the Cross events
- Assist in conducting a Knights Ordeal
Upon completing all of the requirements to become a Knight Baronet, submit the application for Knight Baronet to the Clerk of the Realm for review and processing. Upon approval, a member of the Royal Council will make arrangements to present the Knight Baronet title and medallion in an appropriate setting. He will also be permitted to change his silver spurs to golden spurs, wear the Knight Baronet coronet and add the coronet to his personal and full display of arms.
As he mentors other knights to become Knight Baronet, the mentor will be awarded a silver lion rampant pin by the Royal Council that is to be placed on the mentors blue Knight Baronet ribbon that is hung from his pennon. As he mentors new Knights Baronet, he will be awarded a new lion pin for each new Baronet he assists.
